The IGP Kashmir tweeted, "2-3 more #terrorists alongwith arrested terrorist trapped in ongoing #encounter." "The arrested terrorist also got trapped," the police said.
Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said the killed terrorist has been identified as a Pakistani, linked with the proscribed LeT terror outfit.
Meanwhile, Punjab Police on Friday claimed to have achieved a major breakthrough in the rocket-propelled grenade blast in Mohali earlier this week with the arrest of six terror suspects. Terrorists deliberately targeted civilians in an escape bid during an encounter between militants and security forces in south Kashmir's Shopian district, officials said on Tuesday.
As per police records, Haider was a categorised terrorist who was active for more than two years in north Kashmir and had recently shifted his base to south Kashmir.

The firefight between terrorists and security forces took place after a joint team of the police and the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about presence of terrorists.
"He was given repeated opportunities to surrender; however, he fired indiscriminately upon the joint search party which was retaliated leading to an encounter," police said.
The officials said there are reports about presence of a group of heavily-armed terrorists in Chamrer forest after they managed to sneak from across the Line of Control (LoC)
In another encounter, which broke out at Gundjahangir in Bandipora district's Hajin area, a Lashkar-e-Toiba militant was killed.
Police said as per its records the killed terrorists were part of groups involved in several terror crime cases including attacks on security establishments and civilian atrocities.
As the security forces zeroed in on the spot where terrorists were hiding they came under a heavy volume of fire.
In the ensuing encounter, one terrorist of proscribed terror outfit Al-Badr was killed. He has been identified as Shakir Bashir Dar of Goripora, Awantipora.
