Taliban's recent takeover of Afghanistan has left Afghan people in distress and despair. Meanwhile, many people of Indian origin have returned back home to take shelter and save themselves.

Nation witnessed the desperation of Afghans at Kabul airport when several people clung to the side of moving limitary planes and at least two persons apparently fell to their deaths from the undercarriage soon after flight took off. The insurgents are now in control of all the districts of Kabul while a night curfew has been imposed in Kabul reportedly to prevent further violence. A Taliban spokesperson has said the war in Afghanistan is over, and a new power structure will soon be clear.

These horrifying visuals show the desperate attempts of people to flee Kabul after the city was taken over by Taliban over the weekend.

On Sunday evening, a flight carrying 129 passengers including many lawmakers from Kabul, Afghanistan landed at Delhi Airport.

Kabul has fallen to the Taliban and the Afghan government has reportedly collapsed after the Talibani overtake the presidential palace and the president evacuated the country. Amid fear and confusion that prevails among people in Afghanistan, some Afghanis have opened up about the current situation in the country.

Taliban fighters reached Kabul "from all sides", the senior Interior Ministry official told the wire and there were some reports of sporadic gunfire around the city

No one's life, property and dignity will be harmed and the lives of the citizens of Kabul will not be at risk," the Taliban said.
