In a bid to bridge the last mile, India is broadening financial inclusion across villages and small towns with 75 digital banking units. These units will connect with direct beneficiaries who have so far been left out of the mainstream to support them with all their banking needs.

To measure the extent of financial inclusion in the country, it has been decided to construct and periodically publish a financial inclusion index (FII).
