Following the revocation of the law, the Centre had come up with a proposal which was accepted by the farmers.

About the demand for withdrawal of the draft electricity bill, the Centre said that the opinion of all the stakeholders will be taken into before tabling it in Parliament.

In a letter to the party's state unit chiefs, All India Congress Committee General Secretary, K.C. Venugopal said that the celebration on the repeal of all three farm laws by the Central government should reach out to the people and a 'Kisan victory rally' will be organised.

The trade-off behind this decision seems to be made on two critical aspects. The first and the more obvious reason seems to be the real politic based reasons with elections in Punjab and UP round the corner. The second and more significant reason seems to be the scary disconnect that the protests had created between the people of Punjab and particularly the Sikh population and the government.

This is the third Bharat Bandh since the three agricultural laws were passed by Parliament.

Apart from issuing notices to the Centre and the states, the NHRC has asked the Institute of Economic Growth (IEG) to examine the adverse impact of the farmers stir on industrial and commercial activities/production and disruption of transport services on commercial and normal consumers
