A quack allegedly running a clinic unauthorisedly at Kadamdarha village in Deogarh district was arrested on Wednesday. Police also seized medicines worth Rs 2 lakh from the clinic.

Further investigation revealed that he was also performing operations at his clinic without any necessary qualifications. He was running the clinic on false certificates. 

Most of such cases have been reported from Ganjam- the home district of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik- even though the State health department has been included in 'Mo Sarkar'

It is pertinent to mention here that, the Commissionerate Police has constituted A ‘Pink Team’ to probe the multi-dimensional crimes committed by Swain. The team includes several senior police officials, a legal adviser, a chartered accountant and a cyber expert.

In the video, fake doctor Ramesh Swain, who has been arrested along with his sister, can be seen crying inconsolably.

OTV unearthed a secret chamber in the basement of a clinic at Swain’s Kamakhyanagar residence in Dhenkanal district on Wednesday.

Accused Pravash hails from Cuttack district and has reportedly duped over 150 women so far. Posing as a doctor, he used to develop love affair with the women and then looted them of their valuables.

The accused Pravash Raj, hailing from Baramba area of Cuttack, dropped out of school after Class VI.
