The Commissionerate Police has arrested a youth from Sahid Nagar in Bhubaneswar for allegedly duping more than 150 women by posing as a doctor.

The accused Pravash Raj, hailing from Baramba area of Cuttack, dropped out of school after Class VI.

According to sources, the accused had developed love affairs with over 150 women and duped them of their valuables. He allegedly befriended the women on social media by claiming that he is a doctor by profession. His Facebook profile states that he studied MBBS at MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur.

After developing love affairs with the girls, he used to accompany them to shopping malls and hotels. But once they would enter trial room or washroom, the accused Pravash used to make a vanishing act with their money purse and other valuables.

He was earlier arrested by Badambadi and Jagatpur police thrice on similar charges, sources added.

The concerned police officials could not be contacted for their comments on the case.
