The Odisha government on Tuesday once again relaxed certain terms and conditions in the global e-tender it has floated for the procurement of COVID-19 vaccine doses.
High hopes on Odisha government’s aim to procure vaccines from across the world to expedite inoculation drive against the Covid-19 before outbreak of further infection waves, seems to be crashing down like a deck of cards.
Odisha government on Monday decided to prioritise vaccination of online appointees who have booked their slots through CoWIN platform over offline appointments or on-site registrations.
In a bid to facilitate COVID vaccination to the elderly and differently-abled persons, the Odisha government on Monday allowed the local administrations to plan Near To Home Covid Vaccination Centres (NHCVC) for the beneficiaries.

Posting a rising trend again, Odisha reported 9541 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. Naba Das on Friday urged the Centre to allow the surplus vaccines, which the State has in stock for the age group of 45 and above, to be diverted for a short term.

The Union government has reiterated to the states/UTs that online appointments booked for second dose of Covishield prior to this change of the interval between the two doses of Covishield, must be honoured.
The states/UTs will get about 51 lakh doses in next three days as vaccination forms an integral component of the comprehensive strategy of the government for containment and management of the pandemic.
Considering the requirement of Remdesivir in every state and ensuring its adequate availability, Union Minister of Chemicals & Fertilisers D.V Sadananda Gowda on Sunday announced the allocation of Remdesivir and said a substantial increase has been made in overall production and allocation of the drug,
The Odisha government on Friday floated a global e-tender for procurement of 3.8 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines from leading manufacturers across the world.
As many as 130 persons from Amara and Dalimbapur villages under Goshani block of Gajapati district were denied their second dose of COVD vaccine due to the alleged callousness on the part of the State health department officials.
