A day after Odisha government curtailed the mass vaccination programme in the State in the wake of acute shortage of doses, around 9.43 lakh jabs of Covishield vaccines manufactured by the Serum Institute of India reached the State on Friday.
The alleged mismanagement in collection and disposal of biomedical waste like masks, gloves, face shields and PPE kits has not only doubled the trouble for the government but also exposed it’s preparedness in dealing with mountains of such wastes dumped here and there.
The advisory committee will be responsible for suggesting measures to the State government in the fight against the virus, vaccination and handle the possible third wave of the pandemic
