Jaleswar/Paralakhemundi:  Annoyed over continuous administrative and developmental negligence the villagers of Badsahi under Baliapal block in Balasore district and Ajayagad panchayt under Gumma block in naxal affected Gajapati have pledged not to cast votes for the panchayst elections to protest the ineficieny of the local politicians and the political parties.

The block development oficer of Baliapal, Prakash Chandra Behera even had to face public wrath when he had gone to post the notification for panchayt election in village Badsahi under Baliapal block. The villagers warned the BDO that would not vote till developmental woks like the construction of the village road was not attended to. The residents of ward number one and two asked the BDO to go back and he had to return without posting the notification in the village panchayat office.

Similarly, hundreds of tribal villagers of Ajayagad panchayt under Gumma block in Gajapati district have en masse decided to boycott the panchayat polls to protest administrative negligence. The villagers took the decision at a meeting and pledged not to take part in the election. The villagers complained that there was no point in taking part in the polls as both the local politicians and administrators have neglected development works in Ajayagad panchayt and no amount of requests have yeilded any result.
