Bhubaneswar: The US Ambassador to India, Nancy J Powell today began her three-day Odisha tour with a visit to Chilika Lake, Asia's largest brackish water lagoon and Puri.
 
The ambassador, who was accompanied by US Consul General Katherine Dhanani, praised Chilika Development Authority and saw the sand art created by famous artist Sudarsan Patnaik at the Puri beach, official sources said.
 
Patnaik had created a sand sculpture ofUS President Barack Obamawith a message 'A just & lasting peace'.
 
Powell also visited sand art photograph gallery at the model beach of the sea resort town.
 
She is scheduled to meet Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaiktomorrow, the sources said.
