Berhampur: A primary school teacher and her 28-year-old son died on the spot, when a sand-laden truck hit their motorbike, in which they were travelling near Kumudakhandi, about 20 km from here on Wednesday, police said.

Deceased persons were identified as Krushnapriya Rath (55) and her son Mahesh Mohapatra of Kukudakhandi. The mishap took place when the teacher was going to the school in the bike of her son, police said.

While the truck was seized, its driver remained absconding.
