Two brothers die when desilting deep well

Eye witnesses said Habib entered into the well yesterday to remove the silt and slush from the old well which was not cleaned for past several years. While Habib was in touch with his younger brother Hamil, who was guiding him from the top, suddenly there was no response from Habib after some time spreading panic among the onlookers at the top.

"Without taking any precautions, Hamil then plunged into the well. Trying unsuccessfully to rescue his brother, Hamil too did not respond after a while, said a relative of the victims.

Fire brigade personnel who arrived at the spot fished out the bodies of the brothers with the help of locals, police said.
