Twin City police seeks info on D brothers from govt depts
Bhubaneswar: Intensifying collection of evidence against the Dhalasamant brothers, the Commissionerate of Police would write to different departments seeking information which could help it in its probe against the criminal siblings.
Talking to media persons here, Twin City Police Commissioner YB Khurania said, “In case we feel any government department has any information which may be helpful in our investigation, we will write a letter to the concerned department to pass it on to us.”
Sources said the Commissionerate of Police has already sent notices to CMC, R&B and RD departments to provide information related to the arrested D-brothers.
Meanwhile, the twin city police are planning to reopen old files including four abduction cases which were shut due to lack evidences against the D-brothers.
Khurania added, “Some kidnapping cases are in our focus. Review is being done about those cases. If any new evidence comes out during the investigation, we will seek the court’s permission for reopening of those cases.”
He added, “We will also look into the way the investigation into those cases was done earlier.”
Notably, a total of 19 persons, including politicians, have been arrested for their links with the criminal siblings. So far, 10 cases have been slapped against the brothers.
