Bhubaneswar: While the entire opposition has been gearing up to gherao the UPA government led by Manmohan Singh in the Winter Session of the Parliament beginning from November 22, the three major political parties, the Biju Janata Dal, the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress, too have almost completed their homework for raising issues related to the state in Delhi durbar.

The BJD would once again attack the Congress in the Parliament on its pet theme, that is, constant neglect of the state by the Centre. BJD Rajya Sabha member Baishnav Charan Parida that the Parilament members of his party would raise the issue of scanty Central assistance to the state in providing funds for centre aided programs. Besides, Parida pointed out that though the state`s economy has been hampered due to recent , the floods was dilly-dallying still despite visits of Union cabinet ministers. Parida also poined out that his party would once again try to raise the neglect of the state by the railway ministry. 

Countering BJD allegations, Congress MP Bhakta Charan Dash said that there was no truth in the allegations by the BJD members that the Centre was neglecting the state while providing funds. He, instead, alleged that the state government has failed miserably to utilise central funds and shouted against the Centre to hide the truth. Bhakta Dash however pointed that he himself would raise the issue of neglect by the railway ministry.

The Winter Session of Parliament commencing from Tuesday would have 21 working days. The Manmohan Singh government in the wake of another fast unto death threat from social activist Anna Hazare in all likelihood would the Lokpal Bill in the session. While the opposition would try to maintain the heat on several burning issues like price rise, 2G scam and formation of separate and new states. The Communists have already issued notice for debate on price rise and the BJP would also join with them to raise the cacophony against the UPA-2 government.
