Para murder case: Four more arrested in Puri

Puri: Police on Wednesday arrested four more persons including a woman in connection with the murder of gangster Sanjay Behera alias Para last month.

The arrested persons have been identified as notorious criminal Bhagu alias Bhagirathi Pradhan, Pramod Bhola, Ranjan Rout and wife of prime accused Denga Muna. Two pistols used in the crime were also seized from the possession of the four arrested persons.

“Earlier Tapas Samantaray, Babuni Parida alias Kuna, Denga Muna and Jitendra Sahoo were arrested. Today we have nabbed four more persons in the firing case taking the number of arrests to eight so far,” informed Puri city DSP, Prashant Pattnaik.

Earlier on December 25, Para was critically injured after four miscreants chased and fired three rounds of bullets at him near Nakachana gate of Puri Gundicha Temple. He died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on December 26.
