Odisha Plus-II exams: Preparations in final stages

Bhubaneswar: Amid concerns owing to several lapses during the ongoing Matric Examination in Odisha, the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) is all geared up to ensure that the Plus II examinations in the State beginning March 7 are conducted in a smooth manner.

According to data from the CHSE, a total of 3, 69, 537 students will appear for the annual Plus II examinations this year out of which 2, 35, 183 are from Arts stream, 99, 018 from Science stream, 27, 278 from Commerce stream and 8, 058 students from Vocational stream while the rest will be Ex-regular students.

Apart from 1091 centres, 202 Examination Management Hubs (EMH) have been set up for the examinations.

Tight security arrangements including three-tier inspection have been made. Observers and special flying squads have been set up to ensure smooth conduct of the examination.

Meanwhile, as precautionary measures to check incidents of question papers getting shared on social media, the CHSE has already banned a number of items in exam centres including wrist watches and mobiles.

Prabodh Panda, CHSE Exam controller said elaborate arrangements have been made for the Plus-II examinations.

“Police security has been increased at exam centres in Maoist-prone areas. Almost all the examination centres have Close Circuit Television (CCTVs) cameras. Question papers have reached most of the EMHs. Police and district administration have been requested to provide enough security,” Panda said.
