Odia television actress receives 'death threat'

Bhubaneswar: A regional television actress today lodged a complaint before the Director General of Police (DGP), alleging harassment anddeath threat from an unknown person.

According to statement of the actress, an unknown miscreant has been calling on her mobile and threatening to post her obscene pictures on social media.

“The person has been calling me from unknown numberseven though I blocked him. He often made video calls and also sent vulgar WhatsApp messages while threatening to harass me toan extent that I am forced to commit suicide,” the actress said after meeting Odisha DGP, RP Sharma today.

The actress said that she had no past rivalry with anyone.

“I don’t know what the exact intention of the person is but professional rivalry could be the motive,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Police DG has assured to probe the matter and take action against the culprit.
