Newborn girl found abandoned in Koraput

Koraput: A newborn girl was found abandoned near a culvert at Kebidi village under Borigumma block in Koraput district on Monday. The baby is believed to be two months old.

According to reports, a few local residents passing by the road heard the screams of the baby girl this morning and rushed to rescue her. The infant was immediately admitted to Rabanaguda Community Health Centre (CHC).

Soon after getting information, officials of Child Protection Committee (CPC) reached Rabanaguda CHC and shifted the baby to Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College & Hospital in Koraput.

As per the reports of the doctor, the girl child is under constant supervision and her condition is also stable.

Meanwhile, the CPC officials along with Borigumma police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
