Bhubaneswar: Issues like emerging viral infestions in eastern India, drug resistance indiseases like cholera and malaria and leprosy in tribal population will be discussed at the 3-day annual conference and convocation of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) being held here from tomorrow.

Prof R P Mohanty, Vice-Chancellor of SOA Deemed University and Prof Sureswar Mohanty, eminent neuro-surgon and Organising Secretary of the event, said around 200 fellows and members of National Academy of Medical Sciences (India) including former directors, deans and eminent professors of institutes like AIIMS, New Delhi and the PGIs, will attend the conference.

The 51st annual conference and convocation, being held for the first time in the state would be inaugurated by governor Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare.
