Bhubaneswar: The Jusitce Naidu Commission of Inquiry, probing into the February 2012 spurious drugs tragedy in Cuttack and Khurda districts visited the office and factory of Eastern Pharmaceutical Limited at Rasulgarh here today. The commission enquired about stock registers, business records and raw material of the company.
During the enquiry, the commission sealed sample medicines of Epiceram, Concentrated Cinnamon and Orange tincture and asked the drug controller to send the medicines for examination.
It may be mentioned that more than 35 people were killed in Cuttack and Khurda districts after consuming spurious liquor in February 2012. Following the incident police and excise department had conducted a raid on the Eastern Pharmaceutical and sealed it.
