Jajpur: During the zero hour in Odisha Assembly today, Congress MLA Narasingha Mishra levelled serious allegations in connection with Haridaspur lady Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) Smitarani Biswal’s death case.

Alleging that the father and father-in-law of the lady PEO were forced to sign on a paper which was later accepted as FIR, Mishra raised questions on the way facts were recorded in paper and later used as a part of the FIR. The senior leader demanded an investigation to find out who used such coercion to get their signatures.

Moreover, Mishra also alleged that as per the complaint lodged by Smitarani's husband, charges under section 302 of IPC should have been framed.

Even though the issue has been discussed earlier in the Assembly, it has yielded no results so far, he added.

No comments have been received from the concerned authorities or the ruling party.
