Heartless hubby: Extra-marital affair suspected

Koraput: A special team of Rayagada police today left for Rourkela to nab the man who threw her pregnant wife off a moving train here yesterday.

After recording victim Sarojini Kerketa’s version, police suspect it to be a case of extra-marital affair. To unravel the truth, the cops have launched a manhunt for accused Surak Kerketa, who is still on the run.

“When I opposed his hour-long conversation with a girl over phone, he got angry, took me to the entrance of the coach and pushed me off the train,” said Sarojini, who is now undergoing treatment at the Rayagada district headquarter hospital.

“We have already sent a police team to Rourkela to arrest the accused as he had continued his journey in the same train after committing the crime,” said Rayagada sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Y. Jaggantah Rao.

After Surak pushed Sarojini from the moving train, she fell down on the tracks and gave birth to a still-born child.
