Kendrapara: Months after been falsely dragged into controversy on flying his chopper over Chilika lake, former Parliamentarian Baijayant Jay Panda has been forced to cancel his helicopter ride to Kendrapara citing denial of permission to land. Panda took to twitter to state that his chopper was denied landing in Batighara of Kendrapara though he had attained permission from the land owner earlier.

Panda was scheduled to visit the Batighara panchayat today to meet people and for that he had sought permission for landing his chopper on a private land (plot no-171, 172, 173, Khata no- 63 area Ac 3.05 dec.) belonging to one Ainul Khan of Barakolikhala village.

However, it has been alleged that even after getting permission initially to land in Batighara, Panda was denied the same by police on pretext that he doesn't have the permission of the land owner.

The former parliamentarian further alleged that the move to deny his chopper from landing was an act of intimidation by the ruling-BJD facilitated by the district administration.

Panda also questioned the move saying whether the State government is also following in the footsteps of the neighbouring State (West Bengal) where UP CM and BJP leader Yogi Adityanath's chopper was not given clearance to land for two rallies at Balurghat and Raiganj in North Bengal yesterday.

Panda, however, informed that he would go by road if his chopper is denied landing.
