Berhampur: A senior clerk at the office of the circle inspector (CI) of schools, Berhampur, was removed from service for allegedly serving 11 months more than his age of superannuation by tampering with his certificate.

The clerk Krushan Chandra Mishra was sacked from his service by the government after being proved that he had tampered with his date of birth to stay in service, circle inspector of schools Sudhananda Parida said. The date of birth of Mishra was 1953 but he had made it as 1955 by over-writing in the Board certificate and his service book.

Inspector-in-charge, town police station, S S Mohapatra said Mishra was absconding after a case was registered against him on the basis of an FIR lodged by the CI of Schools. The CI of Schools said the salaries which he had drawn from his actual date of retirement (for last 11 months) would be recovered and his pension would stand withheld as per the rules as he was removed from the services.
