Bhubaneswar: A candle light prayer meeting in memory of the Delhi gangrape victim was held at Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences in which about 20,000 tribal students participated.

With candles in hand and prayers on their rlips, the tribal students of the institute paid homage to the departed soul.

The students disseminated the message that there is no place for such barbarity in a civilised society where women are worshiped.

Students have also decided not to celebrate the New Year in view of this unfortunate incident.

The assembly, which was joined by A Samanta, Founder KIIT and the social science institute and other staff members, condemned the inhumanity, while paying tribute to the victim who succumbed to injuries after fighting for her life for 13 days.
