Kendrapara: The body of an Odia labourer, identified as Dushashan Patra, was brought to Odisha today from Dubai, 11 days after his death.
Patra, a resident of Aul area in Kendrapara, had gone to Dubai seven months back to work there as a plumber. On December 31, he had suffered a heart attack and died.
After the body arrived at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, former Kendrapara MP Baijayant 'Jay' Panda paid floral tribute to the deceased.
"It's really unfortunate that lakhs of Odia brothers and sisters are working outside the State. It’s my dream that there should be enough opportunities for them here at home so that they don't have to leave the State," Panda said.
Paid last respects at Bhubaneswar's Airport to Dushasan Patra of Aali (Aul) in my Kendrapada, who passed in the middle east.
His colleague Uttam Jena accompanied the mortal remains back home.
My dream: Jobs here in Odisha for the 40 Lakh compatriots who've been forced to migrate. pic.twitter.com/ciAKicIj62— Baijayant Jay Panda (@PandaJay) January 11, 2019
