Basant Nayak Passes Away In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Odia film industry lost a jewel as noted Ollywood director and producer Basant Nayak passed away at the age of 76 at the Aditya Care Hospital in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

Nayak passed away after a prolonged illness. He has produced several successful movies. His first production-direction venture was Naga Phasa in 1977.

He also produced various movies like Danda Balunga, Paka Kambal Pot Chhota, Eai Ta Dunia, Yashoda, etc. He also produced hit movies Jahaku Rakhibe Ananta and I Love You, Don, and the latest movie 143 I Love You. Nayak also owned Brajraj Movies, which is a known name in Ollywood.

Nayak's death is seen as a great loss to the Odia film industry. Many film stars and producers have conveyed their heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the members of the bereaved family.
