Cuttack: The High Court today declared the agreement made between Odisha government and ARSS Infra project Ltd regarding Baramunda bus stand land lease to the private company invalid.
 
The court, while hearing the petition filed by Samir Mohanty, stated that the agreement has violated Art- 299 of constitution and Sec -105, 108 of Transfer of Property Act.
 
According to sources, Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) leased out 14.43 acres of land of Baramunda bus stand in Bhubaneswar to a private player, ARSS Infra project ltd, at Rs 56 crore for developing a modern bus terminus.
 
The company was permitted to collect users fee, entry fee and parking fee for next 15 years after constructing a modern bus terminus on 60 per cent lands. Similarly, the company made agreement to build residential complex on the rest of the lands and to collect all fee for next 90 years.
 
In a similar case, an agreement of Odisha government over the Badambadi bus stand land hand over to Reliance Company was declared invalid by the HC which also asked the OSRTC to sell the land through auction. Moreover, the court directed the government to return the money to the company.
