Cuttack: At least seven houses were gutted and two persons critically injured when a cooking gas cylinder burst at Athagarh sub-division of Cuttack district on Friday.

Police said the houses were gutted when the LPG cylinder went off at Totapada village on Thursday leaving at least three families homeless.

The father-son duo of Purnachandra Rout and his son were rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital here in critical condition. Five others also suffered injuries.
