Bhubaneswar:  Girls have again outshone boys in the Plus II examinations in all the three streams of Science, Arts and Commerce. Higher education minister Badri Narayan Patra announced the Plus Two results here in the presence of top CHSE officials today at the State Secretariat.
 
In Science, girls registered a pass rate of 73.79% while 71.04% boys emerged successful. Similarly, while 73.52% of the girls passed in Commerce, boys lagged behind at 66..01%. In Arts, girls led with 72.98%, while the 65.43 % boys could emerge successful.
 
As many as 18,440 students got first division in Science and 3,421 in Commerce. Likewise, 14,148 students secured first division in Arts. The CHSE booked 1872 students in Arts, 521 in Science and 227 in Commerce for indulging in malpractice during the examination.
 
Total pass percent in Science stream is recorded 72.07% while Commerce and Arts registered 68.1% and 69.59% respectively. Dhenkanal district topped in Science recording a pass rate of 85.70% while Nuapada registered lowest pass percent of 34.05%. Dhenkanal also stood first in Arts with a pass rate of 82.33% and Sundergarh witnessed 47.95% results in same stream which is lowest among all districts. Maximum pass rate (80.67%) in Commerce is registered by Khurda district while Deogarh stood last in the results with a pass rate of 24.36%. The results in Science and Commerce streams are nil in three colleges, official sources said.
 
The result booklets were available at all CHSE branch offices, CHSE headquarters in Bhubaneswar and Raveshaw Junior College in Cuttack. The students can access their results online visiting the official website. The websites are http://www.ori.nic.in/chseorissa , http://www.orissaresults.nic.in/ http://www.ori.nic.in/chseorissa. The mark sheets and provisional certificates will be issued to the successful students at their respective colleges from tomorrow.
