Konark: Ten students of the Patitapavan high school, a private school at Khandasahi village under Rahangagoroda panchayat in Gop block of Puri district were on Thursday admitted to the primary health centre at Ambilihana as they sustained grave injuries due to corporal punishment meted out to them by the science teacher.
The students, all from class nine, were allegedly beaten gravely by the science teacher for making mistakes or solving mathematics questions. Local people along with some other teachers rescued the students from the unbearable anger of the teacher and admitted the students to the health centre. The students were later relieved from the primary health centre after first-aid treatment and medical examinations.
