Bhubaneswar: The Special Vigilance Court, Bhubaneswar on Thursday handed out a three-year jail term and a fine of Rs 10 lakh to former executive engineer, Rural Works Department (RWD) of Koraput Division, Jagannath Mohini and a one-year jail term and a fine of Rs one lakh to his wife Renubala Mohini for encouraging her husband to resort to corrupt practices.

During a raid on the office and official residence of Jagannath Mohini on September 20 last year, Vigilance sleuths had found disproportionate properties in the name of his wife.

The anti-corruption wing had later registered a case against the couple under section 13 (2) read with 13 (1) (d) of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988, 420, 120 (B) of IPC.
