The Odisha BJP has alleged that Rs 50,000 crore was misappropriated annually in the name of 5T during BJD's rule. The claims were made in its political resolution passed at the State Executive Committee meeting in Puri.
Odisha's Education Minister Nityananda Gond vows strict action against anyone found involved in the corruption in the 5T School initiative.
"The entire administrative system turned into a 'Police Raj' system. Those who were opposing and not bowing down were facing police action, Vigilance raids and getting harassed."
Local residents alleged that the money meant for stadium construction was siphoned off.
In 2020, the then BDO of Jashipur block had lodged a written complaint against 25 persons at Jashipur police station.
