In a significant development in the Police Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment scam, two additional accused have been arrested by the Crime Branch on Saturday. The detained individuals are believed to be intermediaries involved in the illegal recruitment process.
With this, the number of arrests has reached around 120. Their apprehension comes after the Crime Branch intensified its investigation into the matter.
The Crime Branch has also gathered crucial digital evidence, which is expected to play a pivotal role in the ongoing investigation. Despite the progress, the owners of Panchasft Company, Shankar Prusti and Muna Mahanti, remain at large. Authorities have launched a manhunt to locate and apprehend the fugitives.

Earlier, 114 candidates and three agents were arrested in connection with the scam in this regard. The arrested candidates are alleged to have secured positions through fraudulent means, bypassing the legitimate recruitment process. The Crime Branch continues to scrutinise digital records and other evidence to uncover the full extent of the operation.
The case has raised serious concerns about corruption and malpractice in government recruitment processes, not only in Odisha but also in parts of India.
Authorities have assured that stringent actions will be taken against all individuals involved, and efforts are underway to ensure that justice is served.
