Mayurbhanj tehsildar suspended over corruption and irregularities
The Revenue and Disaster Management Department has suspended Madhusmita Singh, tehsildar of Jamda in Mayurbhanj district, over allegations of corruption and financial irregularities during her earlier tenure as Executive Officer of Belpahar Municipality in Jharsuguda.
According to official sources, Singh was accused of irregularities in several projects, including the streetlight project, as well as discrepancies in the municipality’s cash book. Following complaints, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) had initiated an investigation into the matter.
