New Delhi: Close on the heels of opening of AIIMS in Bhubaneswar, Odisha is all set to get another national-level institution after Finance minister Arun Jaitley today declared in his budget speech that institutions of science and educational research would be set up in the State along with Nagaland.

"I propose setting up of institutions of science and educational research in Nagaland and Odisha," Jaitley said while presenting the Union budget in Parliament.

Meanwhile, Oil minister Dharmendra Pradhan praised the FM and the prime minister for announcing setting up of an Indian Institute of Science and Education Research in Odisha.

The Finance minister also proposed to set up three national institutions of pharmaceutical education and research in Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

This apart, Jaitley said a post-graduate institute of horticulture research would be established in Amritsar, Punjab.

"In Kerala, I propose to upgrade the National Institute of Speech and Hearing into a university of disability studies and rehabilitation," he said.
