Malkangiri: Intensifying the combing operation after the murder of Kulamanu village sarpanch in Malkangiri district on April 3, police and DVF jawans on Sunday arrested two Maoists from Paliguda village under Chitrakonda police station here.

While the security personnel were successful in nabbing two Maoists, another Maoist leader Sudhir fled away, said police.

Meanwhile, the jawans seized huge cache of explosives including two guns, grenade, live bullets, tiffin bombs and Maoist booklets from a Maoist camp here.

Earlier on April 4, two senior Maoist leaders - K Anita alias Kalari Majhi and Bikram Mallick, belonging to Sabyasachi Panda's Odisha Maoivadi Party (OMP), were arrested from the jungle area near Talapatnam village in Ganjam district.
