Koraput: The District welfare officer (DWO) of Rayagada in Odisha was found hanging in his office, the police said
today.
The body of Dhaneswar Prusty (59) was fund hanging from the ceiling last evening, they said.
The police said Prusty had left home around 10.30 am yesterday for office on the plea that he has some work though it
was a holiday because of Mahashivratri.
"When he neither returned home nor took calls, his wife went to the office to check. She found him hanging in the
head clerk's room," Inspector In-Charge of of Rayagada police station, Kapileswar Behera, said.
Though police did not find any suicide note, his wife Kamini Sahu alleged that he was under tremondous pressure
from higher ups.
"We are looking into the matter," the IIC said.
Prusty, a native of Nayagarh district joined as DWO in Rayagada on October 10, 2014.
