Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Prasad Harichandan said Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi will come on a two-day visit to Odisha in September.

Harichandan, while addressing media after the first PCC meeting stated that the tour schedule of the Congress heir apparent is yet to be finalised.

He said within the next one month, Block Congress Committees will be finalised and all vacant posts will be filled up in coming two months.

Prasad said while a general secretary will remain in charge of a Lok Sabha constituency, three secretaries will remain in charge of the seven assembly constituencies in it.

“The party will corner the ruling BJD in the coming session on several issues. Besides, we will organize padyatras across the State to strengthen party at the grassroots level,” he stated.

A meeting of the extended executive committee of the party, which will adopt draft resolutions on political and organisational matters, was also convened at the Congress Bhawan.
