Woman tied to pole, thrashed over theft charges

Ganjam: In a barbaric incident, a woman was tied to an electric poll and tortured brutally by some villagers at Gunthapada village under Kabisuryanagar police limits in the district suspecting her involvement in a theft case on Monday.

On being informed police rushed to the spot and rescued the battered woman.

According to sources, three persons were arrested for torturing the woman and forwarded to the court.
