Vani Vihar triple death: Autopsy report confirms suicide

Bhubaneswar: The post mortem report of three members of a family, who were found hanging from the ceiling of a garage adjacent to their quarter on Utkal University campus at Vani Vihar three days ago, has confirmed suicide as the reason of death.

The commissionerate police on Saturday received the autopsy report of 57-year-old Brajabandhu Acharya, his wife Pratibha (55) and son Biswajit (28), which revealed that they had hanged themselves one after another.

Brajabandhu was working as laboratory attendant in department of Statistics in the varsity while his son Biswajit dealt in automobiles.

Biswajit had recently gone bankrupt after collecting more than Rs 50 lakh from the market. When his customers demanded their money back, he found himself in the soup.

The whole family was in deep mental agony due to the financial bankruptcy of Biswajit, preliminary investigation had revealed.
