Bhubaneswar: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will launch Save Farmer campaign from Bargarh during his State visit in the coming month. Party’s State president Prasad Harichandan informed this to media in a press meet in Bargarh.
Harichandan alleged wrong policies of the State government have led to more farmer deaths in Odisha. He said a lot of farmers from Kadalipalli, Adagaon, Debahal, Saplahar villages of the district have committed suicide in the past after failing to repay huge amount of loans.
The Congress leader stated that the peasants are getting less in return than their actual investment in farming. They have too failed to get the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy, he said.
He too alleged that the western Odisha people are being neglected by the State government.
