Bhubaneswar: Ramchandran Subhas, main accused in the Puri train fire incident has links with Pakistan terrorist group. Subhas had established these links following his meeting with two youths- Riaz and Uttam in Mumbai while the former was staying in the metro city few months ago.
Such shocking revelations have been made by Subhas during his polygraph test, Government Railway Police (GRP) sources said after going through the test report which came out today.
The report said Subhas was working in hotel in Mumbai as a low-paid employee. During his short stint, he developed an affair with a girl and claimed himself to be an engineer before her.
“He was in search of a big breakthrough to inflate his bank balance before getting married,” an official said adding he was trapped by Riaz and Uttam to materialise his dream.
They assured him money but in the exchange of some ‘evil module’ like fire in coaches and provided him the materials as well, the report further noted.
“Before nabbed in Puri, he had conducted similar things in other stations too,” the official said.
The Odisha police who are assisting the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in conducting the investigation, said the information would be helpful in cracking several other similar cases reported in other parts of the country.
“We are extending all support to the NIA team. They are doing a very good thing and we hope it will crack the sensitive case,” DGP KB Singh said.
Meanwhile, Intelligence Bureau (IB) joint director Mona Sharma has arrived in the State capital and held discussion with NIA officials.
