Bhubaneswar: Puri royal Gajapati Maharaj Dibya Singh Deb met prime minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today and invited him to attend the birth centenary celebrations of spiritual guru Swami Chidananda Saraswati.
Deb requested Modi to be the chief guest at the function scheduled to be held on September 25 this year.
However, it could not be confirmed whether the prime minister agreed to grace the occasion or not.
During the meet, they also discussed about the ongoing preparations for ‘Nabakalebara’, the grand festival held to mark the new embodiment of the trinity Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra, which is to be held in June this year.
