Guwahati: Odisha government's department of tourism (DoT) organised a road show today here, the gateway to the north east to attract domestic tourists.

Director of Tourism, Odisha, S Pujari said Odisha is a tourists paradise and DoT is organising a number of tourism events such as Parab Tribal Festival (November 16-18), Konark Dance Festival and International Sand Art Festival from December 1 to 5 next and Dhanu Yatra Festival (December-January).

Besides, Rajarani Music Festival would be held from January 18 to January 20 and Mukteswar Dance Festival from January 14 to January 16 to attract more domestic and international tourists.

He said a progressive and investment friendly tourism policy has been in operation in Odisha since April 2013 with a state-level single window committee created for speedy implementation of projects, several incentives announced for the tourism stake holders as part of promotional initiatives.

Odisha Tourism Development Corporation had organised five such roadshows last year and has planned to organise eight this year, he added.

OTDC offers wide range of facilities to tourists with its 22 strategically located hotels and restaurants with fine Odia delicacies, boat riding in Chilika Lake, tour, travels and transport facilities.

"Travel to Odisha is an amazing experience that attracts people from all parts of the world for its sculptural and artistic heritage, he added.
