Bhubaneswar: Odisha government on Wednesday suspended ex-Bolangir Collector and senior OAS officer Debraj Mishra for involvement in corruption.
Mishra’s name became infamous due to alleged involvement in Revenue Inspector (RI) and Amin appointment irregularities.
Besides, CM Naveen Patnaik ordered the state’s Vigilance department to immediately lodge criminal case against the former Bolangir district collector.
Mishra was collector of Bolangir district from August 2012 to July 2013.
The crime Branch registered cases at SDJM Bolangir against Mishra, four OAS officers - Anita Panda, Binod Bihari Das, Raghunath Mundari and Ripunath Suna - and senior clerk Niranjan Tripathy in connection with the appointment scam.
