Odisha Bridge Corp to be innovative expert agency

Bhubaneswar: Chief secretary G.C. Pati has directed Odisha Bridge Corporation to transform into an innovative expert agency for construction and upkeep of the roads and buildings in the State.

Pati also advised the corporation to strengthen its in-house capacity, revamp its modus operandi, find out and pilot innovative road technologies and modes of financing the road sector.

A meeting of Works department, the corporation’s officials and engineering and finance experts from various agencies under the chairmanship of the chief secretary at Secretariat here yesterday also decided necessary amendments to the mandate and memorandum of Odisha Bridge Corporation will be put before the government for consideration.

The corporation’s CMD S.K. Roy who was present in the meeting was asked to work out a definite proposal in the matter.
