Puri: National Investigation Agency (NIA) will set up a transit camp in Puri for at least a month to investigate the serial train fire incident.

In a letter to Puri collector, the Central probe agency has requested the district administration to provide all facilities for the camp where four officials of the national agency, along with some central forensic scientific experts, will stay for the duration of the probe.

The collector has been asked to provide two rooms in the camp and computers for investigation, four-wheeler vehicles and some support staff.

The collector also assured all required assistance to the central agency.

Notably, an 11-member team of NIA and central forensic team had visited the pilgrim city and examined the burned bogies at the station on December 12. The team also had held a discussion with officials of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP), the two agencies which initially investigated the train arson incident.

The NIA has become more active after the prime accused Ramachandran Subash revealed his terror links during a polygraph test recently.
