Khurda: Large quantities of medicines were found dumped in the Rathipur canal under Ward no.22 of Khurdha municipality on Monday.
According to sources, around 30 to 40 cartons of drugs were scattered in the nallah with most of them in good condition.
Locals are wondering who could have dumped such a huge stock of drugs which could have been prescribed for use since there was moer than a fortnight left for the xpiry date.
Meanwhile, the CDMO has formed a special team to probe the matter.
“As soon as I got the information, I immediately sent a team for investigation. The team will submit a report following which necessary actions will be taken against the person found responsible for the act,” said CDMO Sarada Prasanna Mishra.
Mishra further stated the medical officer in-charge of Jatni hospital ruled out the poaaibility of the dumped medicines being from their stock.
The truth will come out after investigation, he added.
