Nuapada: Maoists have raised grave concern over the drought like situation prevailing in the State.

Spokesperson of Nuapada-Mainapur division of CPI (Maoist) Buddhuram Paharia, appealed to the State government to take immediate steps to tackle the calamities provide necessary aids to the affected farmers. He even urged the peasants to raise voice against government's apathy instead of killing self.

Pointing about the five farmer suicide cases reported from Nuapada due to crop loss and debt, Buddhuram has demanded the government to provide Rs 40,000 compensation per one acre of land to the drought affected ryots and Rs 5 lakhs to the families of the deceased farmers.

The The rebel leader also demanded waiving agriculture loans, providing new loans to peasants, ration card, seeds and fertilisers with free of cost for the farmers. Besides, he asked the government to provide job to the people to curb large-scale migration.
